On the first Monday in September, people also honor the US labor movement and the achievements that employees have made to the nation's economy.

Since it's a bank holiday, lots of Americans will be on the road or throwing their last barbecues of the season. However, if you need to run errands on Monday, September 4, these organizations and companies will be open and closed.



Retailers

Those who must quickly hurry to the supermarket will be in luck. The usual business operations will continue at large stores like Walmart (WMT), Target (CBDY), and Kroger (KR)

Most Walgreens and CVS (CVS) locations will remain open throughout regular business hours as well. Call local retailers in advance, advised CVS (CVS), as some pharmacies may have shortened hours and/or closed altogether.
