The new internet trend currently lists more than 122 million views.

The "frozen" 7-second hack that promises weight loss

Healthy eating and hacks that promise instant weight loss are among the most popular topics searched by internet users. Even on the TikTok app, nutrition topics are a hot topic as many wish to find a way to get in the ideal proportions.

In the latest trends is the "frozen diet", which currently lists more than 122 million views. The new trend that has sparked the interest of the online public claims that drinking ice water (with ice cubes) before a meal boosts immediate weight loss.

Most "ice diet" videos start with a close-up of a glass filled with ice cubes and the narrator claiming that this 7-second hack leads to weight loss. Of course, TikTok cannot be a reliable source of information - when it does not come from experts - so let's see what the success of the above trend is based on.

The "frozen" 7-second hack that promises weight loss

Drinking an ice-cold water or drinking water with ice cubes before each meal relies on the body's mechanism to bring its temperature back to normal degrees. Therefore, by consuming a cold glass of water, the body immediately starts the process of burning calories.

Of course, however, the above "frozen" hack promises results provided there is consistency, a healthy diet plan, and physical exercise.

According to the official Alpilean supplement website, "Ice Hack works by revitalizing the metabolic rate by increasing the body's core internal temperature, which helps the body break down fat and other nutrients properly. The temperature required by the body to break down under these products is 37 degrees Celsius and Ice Hack helps maintain that temperature."

Additionally, according to Infomednews , stubborn belly fat is a result of the decreased body temperature that has been observed in recent years.

A 2019 study published in the International Journal of Obesity supports the above findings. The researchers concluded that reduced core body temperature is a common factor among overweight individuals. When body temperature drops, metabolism slows down, with each one degree drop corresponding to a 13% slower metabolism.

Drinking an ice-cold water before each meal or commercial supplements created for this purpose promise faster weight loss, enhanced heart health, enhanced immunity and better cholesterol levels.

It is true that the temperature of the human body has decreased in recent years, however it has resulted from factors such as unhealthy diet and reduced physical exercise.

Drinking ice water before meals, without following a balanced diet and exercise plan, does not guarantee the desired weight loss.
